View Full Version : Help with Uniden Bearcat UBC280XLT Scanner

Hi A friend of mine has a Uniden Bearcat UBC280XLT which has been
working well for 18 months. He now has the following problem. When you
switch the power on it will scan as well as allow you to enter a
manual frequency but after anything from 10 seconds to 30 seconds the
unit shuts down. The charger has been checked as has the battery, both
are working ok. It will do the same thing even if you try to run it
while charging. Is there a hidden key command or is it a bin job.

is it holding memory channels etc when all power is removed [batteries too]?
have tried a factory reset?

Hi Mike Yes it is holding mem channels wehen power is removed. There
is nothing in the manual about how to do a factory reset do you know
how this is done.
