bc245? http://scan.3dtechnet.com/

I use ScanControl with my 245, and like it very much. Ken is constantly
making improvements to the program, and is in the process of adding full
support for the 780. ScanControl does fully support the 785D, the 250D, and
the Pro-2052, as well as the 245. It will only work for memory management
on the 780 at this time. I haven't compared it to the Butel programs that
seem so popular with others, but I am quite satisfied with it, and can
hardly wait for the version with full support for the 780 to come out.

Yes John we did try that and this is what we found
http://webpages.charter.net/moment/scancontrol.htm
It didn't really work, i.e. it only found 1 bank on a scanner with 4 full
banks of info. It thought our BC785D was a BC245XLT and didn't get anything
on any of the banks. They have no street address and they want you to buy
there software via PayPal, they also have no phone number.... Rule of thumb
when doing business on the internet, "no street address no phone number
just say no to giving them your money!"

It's junk don't bother with it. We could not get the junk to work, i.e. it
keeps shuting banks 1 and 2 off, puts them in the skip mode.. It would not
find our BC785D at all, it keeps saying it's a BC245XLT. It will not import
the info from the TrunkStar780 data file or the Arc780 data file for
frequencies. It only works in the c:\program files\ScanControl dir of you
install it anywhere eles it does not work, that sucks big time!! So we did
what we do with all junk, i.e. put it in the C File :-)

They solved the problem you was having with it not loading banks 1 and
2. As far as bank 4 goes, the demo you tried will only load the first 3
banks. I am working with them now to solve the problem it is having with
downloading the ID's. Check your baud rate setting in the program to see
if it is set right for your 785. I havent had any probelms with it
detecting any of my radios.

I have used it for my BC250D and it worked flawlessly. I am happy to
vouch for this program. It's great!

I agree with you on Trunkstar780 and ARC780. I use Trunkstar780 for all
my logging and ARC780 for editing. I find java780 to be a silly little
program because it don't allow you to edit anything. ScanPro is the only
program I don't have for the 780 so I cant say anything about it. You
forgot to mention Andy's 780 programmer which is a very good and free
program. If you never heard of it then you can get it here
http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/andysprogram/download.html The only
thing about Andy's program is that you have to have excel in order to
use it. I don't know why your having the problems you are with the 785
and ScanControl but I know they are working out all the bugs. Give it a
couple weeks and maybe try it again. Who knows you might like it when it
works.

Well after spending 20min of reading and clicking the only thing we found
on that page was 20 links to:
"Uniden Bearcat Trunktracker
Scanning Tips & Tricks"
Every time we thought we could download a program it just took us to
another page... So we gaveup.. after jumping though 4 or 5 hoops we where
done... We all hate web-sites that say "download here" you click it and it
takes you to another page you have to find another link to click and so on
and so on.. we just don't bother!!
