bc 780 audio recording.

I have winscan and it has a button marked record audio to wav file.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I can't seem to find the audio wave
files.

I can record to a recorder, but can't seem to get it to record to a wave
file on my computer.

Suggestions welcomed

It is in the winscan folder. If you want to use something better for the
recording and control then try Trunkstar780. Winscan780 will breakup
each transmission into a new .wav file. Trunkstar780 will keep
everything in one file with the time and date stamped.

That only works if you're recording trunked frequencies. I like to use
Audadcity for general recording off the scanner.

Trunkstar works great for recording and controlling the radio. I do like
to use ACR780 for working on the freq files. What is it about Trunkstar
that you think does not work very well when it comes to controlling and
recording? Also like what was already said, ID tracker will only work
for trunked systems.

No, it's just a basic audio recording app.

I know TrunkStar does the time stamp thing, but it's nothing like
IDTracker (both of which I use).

IDTracker records conventional frequencies just fine if it is set up
properly. It is necessary to select the relevant bank, select Edit, and
check the track frequencies box.

Trunkstar and the other Signal Intelligence programs I've tried are full of
bugs and missing functions. Trunkstar780 actually assigned the wrong
talkgroup ID to the WAV files when I auditioned the program. Maybe that was
fixed in one of the dozens of versions of the program, but I don't have the
time to keep up with the new release of the week. The author of Trunkstar is
not very competent and would probably not be able to make a living writing
software in a more demanding venue.

We do agree on Butel software - good stuff.

Thanks gentel people. I did find the wave files. but the audio is super
poor. I couldn't get it to play back loud enough to hear, I have aprogram
called audio surgeon lets me do some things with the audio like remove
noise, or increase the apparent volume with out turning up the speaker
volume.

I'll get to work.
