Thank you much. I wasn't even aware of this site. Now I must play catchup, as
it's already near Wednesday local. So much to find; so little time. 73, Bill, K5BY |

Classic stuff from Bob Hope - especially various bits including Bob, Bing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra. I will probably include the wartime "Command Performance" shows in the regular rotation. http://www,michnews.net/wwii History...told by the people who made it. The webcast features approx 55 hours (out of library of 200+ hours) of material including newscasts of the battles, the politics, the diplomatic maneuvers, and everyday life. Also included are speeches by Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), Winston Churchill, Generals Montgomery and Eisenhower, Hitler, Mussolini, and more. In addition, the streaming audio (.mp3) netcast has some of the most poignent, heart wrenching descriptions ever of the horrors of The Holocaust. There are a few slow spots, but by in large it is exciting and interesting (as well as sobering and humbling) to listen to the details of this terrible conflict just as the people of yesteryear did. Let me know what you think. And, if you know any history teachers, media specialists, journalism teachers, or anyone else who might be interested, feel free to send them a copy of this post, or perhaps at least a recommendation. This material is powerful and instructive about the horrors of war, and I want as many people as possible to listen to it and learn from it, so that perhaps somehow we can avoid being attacked, and find a way to do so without killing large numbers of human beings.
