Dear all
As a hobbyist I am looking for advice re online PCBs
Have not done any electronics for a couple of years. The board house I
used to deal with locally has closed.
They produced V good quality boards, but obviously couldnt compete with
cheap Taiwanese/Chinese producers.
I use the old Protel Autotrax circa 1991 - no interest in paying $3K for
the latest software.
I want
good quality for SM packages to TQFP
Mask/overlay
Small runs up to 50 or so and prototypes
2-4 layers
will accept Protel Autotrax as a format
What do people use?
Thanks
Richard

I use ExpressPCB. I know that one of your requirements was "accept
Protel Autotrax" but they don't take it.
That said, they do have their own free software (very little automatic
layout but good control over things that'll matter at VHF/UHF/microwave
frequencies) and I've been 100% satisfied by their service. Good
prices and very quick turnaround on my hobbyist stuff, and they also do
4-layer and masks and production stuff too.
Most of my boards are a mix of SMD and digital and RF.
Tim.

If you convert your files to Gerber 274X any PCB Man can do them.

You mean Precision Australia? I hope not! I just ordered another batch
of our boards from them in July, and I'm starting to run low again!
