Default Jack Carney & the Saturday Morning Comedy Show

I have some very fond memories of listening to Jack on KMOX 1120 in St.
Louis on Saturday Mornings when I was a teenager.

He was like a friend on the radio, just chatting with you, casually
mentioning the products he was tasked with advertising, weaving them
right into the fabric of his show like he was your pal and he'd just
tried a box of those DeBrand's candies and boy, I should really try
them, they're so good ... and playing a lot of old radio comedy.

When you're a kid, you think the world will go on that way forever --
but not so. His untimely death in 1984 was a sad blow to me even though
I was away at college and pretty much out of KMOX's realistic reception
area.

It's Christmastime again, and that always gets me to thinking of some
of the great Christmas comedy routines he'd play on his three hour
show, usually for the last two saturdays before Christmas. I loved all
of his shows, don't get me wrong. Anyway, I was just thinking wouldn't
it be great if I had saved just one of those tapes of his shows from
when I was a kid?
And then it occured to me -- what if somebody else had?

Know of any?

I LOVED those shows as a kid and tried to record as many as I could (they were on Sunday morning and I had to go to church during the second half - LOL)!
Unfortunately, only one or two tapes survived over the years, and they are of pretty poor quality. If you're still interested, send me an e-mail and I'll see about putting them up on youtube or something similar.
