General Manager/WILL AM-FM-TV
Director, Division of Broadcasting
College of Communications
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

The University of Illinois is where it all began. Educational broadcasters met
here at mid-century to lay the cornerstone of public broadcasting, NPR, and PBS.
Now, WILL AM-FM-TV seeks a General Manager to lead the way in the digital age.

The WILL stations are looking for an industry professional who will provide
creative leadership and administrative management of the Division of
Broadcasting. He/she will lead the stations in strategic planning, budget
development and control, and human resource management. Duties and
responsibilities include active participation in fundraising and in partnership
building within the university and the communities served by WILL. They also
include participation in state and national public broadcasting organizations
and the development of new technology standards and services including digital
broadcasting and on-line media.

Qualifications:
· Minimum of ten years management experience, including at least five
years in public broadcasting
· Baccalaureate degree in communications or business-related discipline;
graduate degree preferred
· Strong leaderships skills, including proven ability in planning, problem
solving, conflict resolution, staff evaluation and mentoring
· Ability to articulate the vision and mission of WILL AM-FM-TV
· Excellent communication skills
· Demonstrated commitment to diversity in the workplace
· Working knowledge of emerging technologies and latest on-line program
delivery systems

Starting salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. The university
offers a generous benefits package.
