Any Toronto all-grain brewers want peated malt? I'm not brewing these
days, but I can whip up some peated malt for those that could use some
in a test brew. I used some at my professional brewery some time
back, but since it was shipped from the UK and moved around somewhat,
it didn't impart too much flavour.

In any case, let me know if you are interested.

Cheers
Mine (interface) has developed a fault and I want to fix it.
Thanks. Howard.

transmitter for digital radio communication (basically a homebrew ASK
radio modem). I'd be open to using that, but I'm not aware of any
radio modems that output square waves.

This oscillator also has 2 digital pots attached: 1 to trim the space
tone, and 1 to trim the mark tone. There's a high speed switch
between the two pots to rapidly switch between mark and space tones.
I could use this same setup with a 555 and trim the resistor to vary
the pulse duration, but I'm not sure what impact a square wave would
have on transmission, reception, decoding, etc...?

Has anyone heard of a square wave being used as an audio tone for
digital radio communication?

Thanks in advance,
I'm building the ADC-40 made by KD1JV.
Paging through an old QST, it dawned on me that when schematics are drawn, usually the earliest stages are drawn on the left side of the diagram. The
speech input circuits for a voice transmitter; the antenna coupling and RF preamp (if any) for a receiver, etc., all seem to be drawn on the left.

In the tube days at least (and to some degree with solid-state homebrew today) we seem to build the actual equipment the same way: the earliest stages
are physically on the left side of the gear.

Of course, in Western culture we also read and write from left to right. I suppose we learn to look for the beginning of a story on the left side of
the page.

And of course, in some other cultures, people read and write from *right to left*.

When people from these cultures become involved in radio, do they draw schematics (and build gear?) in the same direction Westerners do? Or do they
work "backwards"?
I have the Delhi selfsupporting tower, it is 48ft tall I believe, an old ham
tower. It has the top piece plate but I need the plate that is about 5 ft
down. The previous owner of the tower made some home made ones for each 1/3
length of the tower but now I need the replacement for the one plate that I
can connect the angle brackets that hold the u bolts that hold the masting.
I went to to a local tv distributor now who sells the tower but not the
replacement parts. I also need those angle brackets. I am in Southern
Ontario. Any ideas where there are shops or ham fests in this area soon?

Thanks
