Antonio Vernucci
Having devoted a significant amount of time to thoroughly understanding the
ART-13 functioning and putting it in operating conditions, I wrote an
essential - though detailed - guide for those not wishing to read the 400-page
maintenance book which is not very explanatory and contains a lot of...

Believe it or not we finally have the cause of Gravity ! by
fitz[_2_]
Believe it or not we finally have the cause of Gravity !
A correct theory of gravity will show us these four (4) things:
1. It will show us why gravity also acts like acceleration (principle
of equvalence).
2. It will show us the actual cause of gravity.
3. It will show us why gravitational mass...

What's the metal cap on top of CX301A tube for ? by
xcalibur
Recently acquired a vintage 1927 A****er-Kent Model 33 TRF radio.
It has six identical CX301A tubes with one exception: Tube#4, which I believe to be the final tube of the TRF section (input to the two AF tubes),
has a heavy chrome cap over the top of it. This cap is supported by a couple felt pads...

Collins R-188/51J-3 S-Meter Problem and Cure by
Richard Knoppow
I recently aquired an R-388. Its in good condition but
I found the S-meter read very low. From the entries in the
archives of the Collins Collector's List this seems fairly
common. I found that the problem was R-163, a 160ohm
resistor in series with the meter, it had increased in value
to over...

Odd resistors identification by
Antonio Vernucci
Some of the schematic diagrams of war times radios - though not all of them -
adopt an odd way of identifying resistance values.
For instance a 200.000 ohm resistor is marked "200 Mohm". The "M" means kilo,
not mega! Conversely a 2.000.000 ohm resistor is marked "2 Megaohm".
Does any one know...
