Good news! *MAURITANIA, Radio Mauritanie, 7245 kHz, near start at 0555
UTC, 28 May 2011, excellent signal 45454, Q'uran reading by male in
Arabic (Jensen, CA)

Very weak signal over here at 0630 UTC . Some kind of prayer or Holy
Book reading . Definitily Arabic language .

Sorry about that - it was a kickass signal hereabouts in California.
At 06:30, they were doing some kind of an interview in Arabic between
the studio host and what sounded like an older fellow.

Suddenly came alive at 0655 UTC . No more religious programs so far .
Signal is fading in and out wildly . Heard some music as well !

Wildly as in polar warbling? Does it fade completely. Is there selective
fading. Does ECSS or sync detection fix it?- Hide quoted text -

Deep fades , occasional *total fadeout . Didn't try sync detector --
will turn it on next time this broadcast is on the air .

Right now, 0624z, May 30, 2011, hearing Mauritanie again on 7245, not
as good as two days ago (now SINPO = 35343), but still pretty good
copy of Arabic Q'uran or chanting. *Noise a bit higher, Fading =
gentle fluttering. *FWIW, heard VO Tanzania Zanzibar earlier at 0300z,
6015, SINPO 14331 improving slightly as the hour progressed (owing, I
reckon, to the mutual grayline passage).

* * * 7245 KHz is barely audible today . Heard some voices and little
of music around 0630 UTC and then it slowly started to disappear .
Completely . Tried both sync detector,ECSS -- no use . BTW ,BSKSA
supposedly uses 7240 KHZ .

OK, Tnx on the BSKSA 7240...

Here is a recording of the 7245 kHz station beginning at 0626 UTC on
May 28, 2011. At 01:07 minutes on the recording, a station ID is
heard with the words "Mauritania Nouakchott" clearly stated.

Needless to say, going for a QSL with this one. Faint hopes, but
gotta try.
