DE - Thanks for the Statement.
Sound like a 'perfect' basis for a Civil Rights Action
against Talk Radio Stations for Limiting the Free
Speech Rights of anyone over the Age of 55.

and this comes from a champion of hispanic broadcasting ~ RHF

There is no "free speech" in or on private property. All the First
Amendment
guarantees is that free speech will not be interfered with by the
government.

But a private radio station or newspaper can limit what can and can't be
talked about, in its offices and on the air. Just as a night club can
establish a dress and conduct code, and throw out anyone who is, for
example, cussing, radio can decide who gets on the air or not.

Next you are going to be saying that the Hip Hop stations should also
play
Benny Goodman for the same reason...

DE,

So 'you' dispute the concept of Broadcast Radio and
TV Stations using "The Public Airways" and having
a Responsibility to the Public that they claim to serve
"In-the-Public-Interest".

Not in the least. The FCC leaves it entirely to the discretion of the
licensee what audience segment they intend to serve. For a religious
station, it may be evangelical Christians, but not Jews or Catholics or
mainstream Protestants. For a Top 40 station (now called CHR) it may be a
youth audience, and nobody over 40. For a Spanish language station, it may
be only people from rural Mexico, but not from Central America or urban
centers of Mexico.

There is no requirement to give service to everybody. And there is no
requirement to serve groups which will not enable the station to generate ad
revenue, such as seniors.

But if there is money to be made serving the Farsi-Speaking Persians of Los
Angeles, a station will dedicate all its efforts to that group (as in fact
happens with KIRN).- Hide quoted text -

DE - So clearly Persons-of-Age {Over-the-Age-of-55}
are an 'under-served' Minority Market who's Rights to
Equal {Listening} Access and Use of the Public Airways
are being neglected -by- Radio Station Owners.

We Need a National One Hour of FM Radio Programming
on Each-and-Every FM Radio Station for Persons-of-Age
{Over-the-Age-of-55} - It Ought-to-be-a-Law !

Every Radio Station Owner should be required to show
that they are Serving the Persons-of-Age Community.

Persons-of-Age -want- The Senior Citizens Hour !

What Do We Want - Equal Programming Time !

When Do We Want It - We Want It Now !

Persons-of-Age -aka- Senior Citizens Have Rights Too !

oh well never mind - i am having a senior moment ~ RHF
