I prefer chrome plated brass for marine and salt environment over
stainless steel. With enough exposure and time, SS will rust. Brass
never rusts. james

Cheers James, but where am I missing something when you say stainless steel
rusts? Wouldn't brass oxidize in a salt environment? Besides what I am reffering
to is the nuts/bolts holding the kit together. An observant operator will inspect
his kit yearly and make adjustments accordingly.

Howdy Jim,

Yes SS does rust, but at a far lower rate than regular steel. Brass might
oxidize a little, but will never corrode under salt air environments.

Landshark

Hey Shark, my point was that stainless when used and inspected accordingly would
perform just as well as brass at a lower cost. Should have said that originally.
Its actually a silly point as we are talking nickels and dimes.

Affirmative. Nickels & dimes add up, you can send me all the ones you
don't want

past several months. Whats up with that? I'm thinking, correct me if I'm wrong,
you have nothing better to do. Do you post on the amateur ng's with any relative
discussions?

On a lighter note, how about them Niners???? LMAO!!!!

Landshark

Not as bad as the Jets who lost to the lowly Browns eh steve? hehehe

LOL!!! Ever since Eddie D got booted and his Sister took over, Niners
have sucked big wind............................. Even the lowly Brown will
look better at the end of the year.

They just barely lost to them...how about that call at the end with the
touchdown to tie? That was really close, I'm glad I didn't have to make
that call.

the gents in the jets ng have been ****ing about that call. it truly was
a bullsh*t decision.

Bull**** because you guys didn't luck out and tie at the end, right?
Otherwise we all know you Jets were hardly even in that game with the lowly
Browns as far as I could see.

we played down to youse guys

There are different grades of Stainless Steel. Contrary to most
people's belief, not all SS has excellent corrosion resistance to salt
environments. Grade 304, w hich is very common and cheap, is not very
resistant to salt corrosion. Grade 316 is. It also is more costlier.
Chrome plated brass and non plated brass is cheaper than 316 SS in
most cases.
