About five years ago I bought a floor-standing drill press that has been
used for most of my homebrew radio projects. It was a cheap item from
Harbor Freight -- only around $350 for this large and useful tool.



Today I was drilling holes for my transmit-receive switch and heard a
horrible noise from the belt-box. Further investigation revealed that the
hexagonal nut that holds the stepped belt-wheel to the top of the drill
shaft had become completely unscrewed (presumably it was never...
