Respect, other than the occasional holding of an open door has to be
earned and maintained. You may have done the former but you've failed
miserably at the latter.

Those of us not actually acquainted with him are uncertain as to whether
he has actually earned anything. We have only his word and he's caused
some doubt as to it's value.

How about us 13 wpm hams? Should we stand or remain seated while we
laugh at your pomposity?

Mmmm...maybe the Extra's should stand up and salute when someone who can
program a software programmable transceiver shows up ? An EME specialist
? Someone who builds radios ?

Depends if he brought the coke and pizzas for the meeting or not.

have to know what's important these days in running a club.

Crap like this is why I haven't gone for a ham license. I've worked in
real broadcast radio and thought about taking the amateur test, but I
have no desire to be in a hobby filled with childish old geezers.

No-code hams in wheelchairs have to stand and salute the Extra too. Being
in a wheelchair is no excuse for not standing up and saluting.
