4:1 balun question
Hi Group,
Put up a off-center dipole, 80 feet on one side and 40 feet on the other side and use a 4:1 to step down the impedance. How does a 4:1 balun change a complex impedance? Is the j part of the antenna also divided by 4? for example, 200+j200 will step down to 50+j50 ? de KJ4UO |
Just do what the arithmetic tells you to do.
Z/4 = (R+jX)/4 = R/4 + jX/4 |
