to Richard, Cecil and anyone else interested in a way OT idea.

I was listening to an old recording of Steve Reich Violin Phase and
later to Piano Phase. Both pieces remind me intensely of discussions
read over this newsgroup. Easily downloaded from iTunes or other.

My apologies for OT. Let me know if you ever hear these
recordings...some of my faves.

Hi John,

My taste runs to Reggae, Electronica, Hip-hop, and Wo'pop - and the
immortal Carlos Gardel.

For violin, Papa John Creech, or David LaFlamme. To return this to
any faint resemblance of RF, I studied violin under Clarence Westphall
who called it a fiddle. What makes the connection to RF? He was the
first solo male performer on coast-to-coast radio. Hmm, something
like three or four degrees of separation in that....

I have no talent for violins, however.

Richard:

IT'S ROCK N' ROLL TO SAVE MY SOUL!

Rolling Stones--Mick Jagger is immortal, he is going to live forever!

Well, some say he is beginning to look like he already has :(

Warmest regards,
JS

Yeah, the wheel-chair tour. That stuff is from La Brea.

Never heard him draw a bow on anything. Try Jean-Luc Ponty when he
was with Zappa or John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu orchestra.

Or Shankar, who also played with McLaughlin and many others, and toured
several times with Peter Gabriel - he was excellent with his double
violin on the Secret World Live tour.
