I have some nice long fences sectioning of part of my property I am
thinking about runing a dipole but the section interputed by a gate I
am wodering how it would work if I put one end of the dipole on one
side of the gate the other on the other side with 3feet between the 2
feedpoints?

I hope the fence is non-metal.

How about some bamboo/fiberglass/pvc "stand offs" to lift the antenna
free and clear of the gate and anything entering/exiting--higher the
better.
