This newsgroup is truly educational. Just in the past few days, I've
learned that:

"The law of conservation of energy is just another law awaiting to be
"broken", i.e. a new "law" found which acts to the contrary ..."
-- "John Smith"

and

". . .gravity is a theory. . ."
-- "Jimmie D"

These, of course, are just the jewels among the semi-precious stones of
Gaussian antennas and bouncing waves of average power.

Thanks, folks. A little more time on this newsgroup and I'll be ready to
step out into the world of the 13th century!

Roy:

Don't let this surprise you but, the alchemists dream was realized
decades ago, turning a base metal into gold. Though bombardment in
nuclear accelerators it is possible to turn mercury into gold--of
course, the cost in energy is more than the resulting gold is worth ...

Hold on to your shorts, if you are successful in not becoming SK before,
you will see many of mankinds' dreams bear fruit--there are few things
that a man has not dreamed which has not come true ...

One imagines Roy staring into a mirror while shaving telling
himself over and over that there are no ExB joules/second of
*average power* in the EM light waves *bouncing* off the mirror
into his eyes - at the same time while supporting a technically
impossible delay of 3 nS through a ten inch long, two inch
diameter, 100 turn 75m loading coil.

I believe that religion, (Any religion) comes in very close to the top of
that list JS. I also believe that you have one too many "nots" in your last
sentence.

Harold:

Correct on the "nots", I missed that extra one, thanks!

Yes, what one believes does tend to take one in that particular
direction ... optimistic/pessimistic--yin/yang thing ...

However, mankind has a good "batting average", what he tends to
work/strive/imagine to, he tends to achieve--one only needs to examine
science though the past-to-date to find this proof (or God if your
particular religion is science!) ;-)

In 1978 while attending the University of Miami is was considered a theory,
if it has changed since then I am sorry for not keeping abreast.
I will make sure I put "Review Newton's Theory of Gravity" in my to do list.

You have some company: a Google search
on "gravitational theory" yielded
164,000 hits!

Only 18,000 hits from searching on
"Newton's theory of gravity". ;-)

Yes, but one should also consider:

'UFO' produces 37,800,000 hits on Google.

'Elvis is Alive' gets 1,510,000 hits.

'George Bush is a genius' comes in a close third at 1,250,000

This may come as a surprise, John, but
"genius" gives 64,000,000. Must be the
Lake Woebegone influence, where the
children are all above average.

i thougt this was a joke listing until I was asked for refrences for
gravity equilibrium for dipole antennas.

Guassian antennas must be one of those other joke listings when simple
questions to the lister go on for hundreds of listings with only joke
anwers.
He writes more in burning water another joke list.

The Lake Wobegon influence is that that overblown a--hole makes fun of
his fellow Minnesotans at our expense, and many of us do not appreciate
it. It is well known that he looks down on us from a very great height
with his infinite comedic wisdom on hand, or at least he thinks it a
great height.

We can't even find a decent governor. Twice now, we have had to pay an
