Shouldn't you really be asking: 1) How has this happened? (or, are we the "frog in the pan of boiling water?") 2) How can we stop our public servants (note: some refer to them as "leaders") from criminal, self-serving (pocket stuffing), anti-American and treasonous behavior and engaging in such conspiracies with large business? 3) How can we get real world figures/facts from our news media? And, why are these media outlets not on trial? 4) Etc., etc. .... Power companies have already attempted to control "their" power-lines (really the public power-lines) from being subjected to a secondary use (BPL), they lost--so far ... American citizens can use their lines as they please. In the end game, I suspect the politicians will be paid off so power companies can hold BPL providers to ransom--this criminal behavior permeates government/business these days ... many are leaving the states, that is one option--let 'em tax the illegals to death. Amateur Radio and its' importance just stands as a pale ghost in
comparison to the dramatic figures in this play ... the amateur community were warned--long ago; few paid attention--now it is too late. ============================== Considering the efforts made and attention paid by ARRL on behalf of all radio amateurs in the USA to stop BPL , the above seems rather off the mark . In the end BPL will not come to fruition whatever the 'pushing' by FCC and Commercial Powers , also because it will highly likely not be commercially viable. Frank GM0CSZ / KN6WH |

Frank GM0CSZ / KN6WH I am afraid you missed the whole point, did you just "come on board?" The surest way to implement the downfall of BPL would be to see the success of 700Mhz "freedom zone." Then, BPL would pale in comparison to a method that can penetrate virtually any building and you can use while you walk down the street ... Unfortunately, the mindset you have is shared by many, too many; unable to see the forest through the trees--you attempt to be the tail which wags the dog; while that may, or may not, work for high powers in high places--I believe such is doomed to failure--indeed, isn't that how we got here? A very 'Rumsfeldian' response, i.e, rephrasing the question so as not to have to answer, snipped. No, I asked it that way because I know of no country besides the U.S. that tested BPL and allowed it, but in case there were any I was not aware of, anyone who knew could answer. Do you know of any? The only country that came close that I know of was Austtrialia, because they have large sparsely populated areas. However last I heard it was canceled because it was shown to interfere with Coastal radio stations. Geoff. -- Geoffrey S.
