As you know, analog TV ends in 412 days (over the air analog tv
signals.) Or, TV goes digital!

Would be a good time to sign up for the $40 coupon from the govt. to
defray most of the cost of the converter box cost for your tv(s).

And it would be a good time to remember that the coupons are only good
for 90 days.

.... or, for that matter, that 1/2 of all the allotted coupons are gone,
congress may choose to allot more (most likely will.)

Or, that the coupons will start being mailed Feb. 17, 2008 ...

Yes, 90 days from the date your coupon is issued and mailed to you.

That site has a defective security certificate that is registered to
another site. It's also an alias of dtv2009.biz - .biz not being in
exactly the best of neighborhoods and being hosted on Level3 doesn't
help.

For those unable to view the certificate in question, I have included a
couple of screen shots while viewing the certificate. Depending on
which version of windows you are using, you may have to click again on
the "enlarged image" to bring it to full viewing size:

If you only have three months to cash your coupon it is better
to wai until you are closer to the official change over time
to obtain the latest developments in manufacture.

I would make sure I purchased one which allowed upgrades to its'
firmware, indeed, I would do this with any "smart" electronic device,
even my digital camera(s).

Cheap chinese junk is better left alone, however, it is more and more
difficult to find anything else!
