Radio Shack BNC 50 ohm terminator as Dummy Load

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I saw this 50 ohm "terminator" BNC connector at Radio Shack today and was wondering if it could be used as an antenna dummy load? It is designed as a computer network terminator - just a female jack without any output connector. I believe the only question would be "Could it stand the power output?" What if the output was just 5W? Anybody know about this product or have used it as a dummy load? It'd sure save the price of a "real" dummy antenna (it was priced about $4.00 USD). Thanks There is surplus store in Sacramento, Ca. The name of the store is, "Computer Surplus", he had bins of those resistors. You could series/parallel those until the "cows came home", I could easily imagine a matrix capable of handling 1KW or more, at least for a minute or two ... Look around ... Regards, JS |

Regards, JS I forgot to mention the price, they were .10 cents a piece. If you took a bucket full off his hands, I'd imagine you'd get a MUCH better price. LOL I am sure you can find it in the phone-book ... Regards, JS |
