While some of yours just walk and quack.

I'll admit that, Tom, but I correct my errors as I
diagnose them. That gives me a definite advantage
over anyone who thinks they already know everything
and are therefore incapable of a mistake. Sound
familiar?

I need to address this, because Cecil has frequently declared all
combinations of an ideal voltage source and resistor as a "Thevenin
equivalent" as I see he's implied here once again.

Since there is no such thing as an ideal voltage source,
my declaration seems to hold a grain of truth.

I often use an ideal voltage source in series with a resistance for
illustration of transmission line phenomena.

Unless you can actually demonstrate an ideal voltage source,
it still walks like a Thevenin equivalent and quacks like
a Thevenin equivalent.
