Magnetic Longwire Balun Question !!

Hi !.......

I`ve just purchased a WiMo MTFT Multi impedance transformer
with three taps at 4:1, 9:1 and 16:1 ratios.
Is anyone familiar with this device and can suggest a suitable wire
length to start with?? ......the instructions suggest a minimum of 6m
around 20ft....

Tried a 33 foot and pruned that back to about 30 feet to get a
very good to middling SWR on most bands.......thinking inverted `L`...
Garden 35x15feet......

Cheers...

UPDATE......

Sorry for the silly question about aerial lengths but it transpired that the
impedance transformer was faulty !!! ...... it wasn`t responding too well,
the replacement works very well down to 100kcs as a receive ant and
covers 160m to 10m with an average 2:1 swr ......
The aerial is an inverted `L` 63 feet long with multiband counterpoise.....

Cheers...

Hi Len,

How did you make the SWR determination?

With a regular VSWR bridge Richard.....

Hi Len,

And if you added 16 feet of line (or so) on either side of that
bridge, it would still indicate the same SWR relationships?
