Matter of interest, isn't Bird Corp now run by a lady (or at least was when
I bought my 43 in the seventies)?

Don't know about the seventies, but as of July 2007 the President and
CEO was one Mark Johnson, picture at
http://www.bird-technologies.com/news/e-award.htm. Seems to be of the
male persuasion, sorry.

John, you're living proof, that, in some people, evolution is
a failure. Of course, you don't believe in evolution, which just
confirms the truth of the above statement. The question is, though:
Why do you bother to keep posting to a newsgroup where you are
universally loathed?

Why on earth did that seemingly harmless post evoke such a hostile reaction?

Tom:

It is, indeed, a sorry state of affairs ... :-)

I consider myself but a step above yourself, and knowing you evolved
from the apes is CERTAINLY no comfort ... I can't begin to describe the
grief in such knowledge ... :-(

But then, you already knew that ... and, if not, you at least suspected.

Thanks Suzy!

"Suzy",

I have learned through experience on this ng that people prefer that you
post with your true call sign, name or email address. So I decided to do
just that. Your anonymity generates this kind of response. I have already
plonked the above two posters, both anonymous "John" and KA6RUH for
reasons many consider obvious. Having said that, they are not generally
offensive people and nobody will bother you here. People may contact you
offline but it is OK and they will stay within the technical arena. I need
not mention that the technical content of their posts is non-existent as
usual. And I have had no problem with spam.

Thanks for reply. I was not referring to me but to John, whose post was
perfectly harmless

Because, in the U.S. at least, the motivation behind such posts is not
"harmless."
