How does it feel to use a commercial high gain curtain antenna and being a HF big gun for a weekend..

After 60 years of operating from Dutch soil, Radio Netherlands
shortwave has left the country seeking better (cheaper) propagation
outlets to serve their listeners. For hamradio there was an unique
opportunity to use the idle antennas. PA3GVI had such an opportunity
his small hamradio next to the 500kW big brother connected to
curtainantennas of 22dB gain. In practice the 100W of the trx, gave
him an ERP of 8kW. The low angle of the system gave him an ease to
work other hams working on a broomestick at the other and of the
world.
He uploaded on YouTube the following teaser:

Thanks to the original poster (Joop!) from Dutch hamradio usenetgroup.
