Why don't every American have this aerial ? It is beyond Big !

Most Americans are convinced that ''big'' and the ''most'' is good etc.
And ofcourse people are juged how ''much money'' they have. Or not ?

Anyway, this most big one comes from Europe : www.ciromazzoni.com/Loop%20Antenna.htm

When talking solid and big in broadcasting it has my interest !

For these loops, they are quoting a front-to-back ratio of 6dB. I was
unaware that loops HAD a front-to-back ratio.

which side is the front? i wonder if art had anything with designing these?

The front is at the halfside where the gammamatch is attached. So you point the
thing with its sides closest to the gammamatcher. 6 dB is a power increase of 4 times
gentlemen ! The are available in three sizes. It stays on your mind, doesn't it ?

Noted on the F/B. Thanks. You learn something new every day (unless you
try hard to avoid it).

oh, so the gamma match is doing the radiating and the loop is shielding it
from the 'back'. NOW that makes more sense.

6db f/b can also mean a signal DECREASE to 1/4 of the 'front' signal
strength in the 'back' direction. it doesn't mean that there is gain in one
direction, simply that more power is going one direction than the other. i
can build a small loop and add a small vertical very close to it and
generate probably 20-30db f/b ratio, but it's signal compared to a dipole or
even a 1/4 wave vertical will suck... those antennas have been documented
for many years, but no one bothers using them for transmitting, only for
transmitter hunting as receive antennas.

Loop antennas are indeed used for transmitting, and many appear to work
remarkably well.

mister. First you couldn't read the front-to-back ratio diagram. And now this stupid remark.
Better you stay away here with your lowlevel non constructive shill-mentality !

If you understanding is so little, don't bother us with it. Go to your mother or a shrink.
Anything but go !

now that is what i expect from someone who is trying to defend their
exagerated claims... just go away, don't try to explain why or how you
measured a f/b on a loop... you obviously observed something you can't
explain so you now assert that anyone who doubts you must be crazy or
doesn't understand. I understand snake oil claims when i see them. And
yes, i do know that many people use loops for transmitting, i also know that
many people who have their choice of antenna don't bother with them because
they don't perform as well as other designs... but if all you can do is a
small loop on your property, then its better than nothing.
