Has it ever occurred to those involved in this thread that Art has outsmarted us
all, and that he is simply pulling our legs and we fell for it all the way? I
know some Brits who are pretty smart blokes, but would like to make us look like

Yes. John D. Kraus, the inventor of the helical antenna, did just that.
In his 1950 edition of "Antennas" on page 176 Kraus wrote:
