Alternative-Energy Amateur Radio Picnic?

All,

Is anyone having a non-fossil powered amateur radio or homemade
receiver picnic? Has anyone prepared a handout pointing to web sites
describing historical and current solar, wind, earth battery, hand-
cracked generator, etc. use in amateur, homemade, and emergency radio
communications? I'd like to hear about activities and sites with just
radio power-source facts—not explicit political content.

Thank you,

Steven, KD7YTE

Alternative-Energy Amateur Radio Picnic?

All,

In searching the web I found a few photovoltaic (sun battery) radio
projects. I like the modest scale of the last link's solar-powered
radio.
