I've been playing around with EZNEC instead of mowing the yard.
A standard G5RV works well on 75m, 40m, 20m, and 12m. My
favorite band is 17m. If the G5RV dipole length is changed to
94 feet, and the series section changed to 40 feet of 450 ohm
ladder-line, the resulting configuration will work well on
40m, 20m, 17m, 12m, and 10m, according to EZNEC.

any chance to compare both the carolina windom dipole (short version)
ant the G5RV I have built both, the carolina windom seems to perform bit
better for my location on all bands without need for a tuner, have said
that, the T2FD seems to beat both.
wish I could know how to use eznec :-(

If you run MSWindows, why not download the free
demo version of EZNEC? It comes with antenna examples
that you can load and look at without having to
design anything.
