You don't have need of multi-band capabilities?

I have one of these. I can hit a repeater over 10 miles away on 6
Meters, using a 5 Watt HT and 100' of RG-58.

There are several discones out there by Diamond, Icom and others. Do work
fine 1.2 and VHF/UHF and everything in between too. Good to have for the
first outside antenna. There are gain omnis and yagis out there too. Best
to use the best coax you can get, even hardline if you can afford the
connectors. If you can keep the length down to 30' or less you will be way
ahead.
