VHF Broadband balun 4 to 1 ratio..(50 and 144 mhz)..maybe even up to 440? how to build one?

Id like to build a 4 to 1 balun..50 mhz through 2mtrs (and above if
possible). I have ferrite cores..type 61 and 37 material. Does anyone
know how to build a low loss 4 to 1 VHF balun.?
I was thinking of taking 2..nr 37 big sleeve beads and making a
binocular type of core and winding a broadband xformer..and wind the
coax into a choke ahead of it. Question..is nr 37 ferrite lossy at
vhf?

How about a homebrew plexiglass torroid..permeabilty approx 1 and
using a bifilar winding.
I have a Radio Shack VHF log periodic antenna..and an mfj hf and vhf
antenna analyser. Id like to use it on six, 2 and for fm band
listening.
I realize I could use a commercial tv balun..but im sure..they are
probably very low power ;and I suspect a bit lossy.
Any tips before I start winding ..trial and error.

If you'd be satisfied with a bit of description from an old ARRL handbook,
I'll scan the info for you. See page 16-8 1990 ARRL Handbook.
