Cubicle Quad Wind Loading

My understanding is the wind load of a normal quad is about 4 square feet in
the 10 meter region. If the antenna gets larger for the lower frequency
bands 10 square may not be to far off. A good vertical as high as
permissable could very effective although a horizontal antenna cuts out a
lot of QRM. Maybe a few more guy wires will keep the extra square feet up
there as the antennas are usually built to survive 80-100 MPH winds. We
have to remember a good antenna is a must and if the conditions are good the
antenna makes a mediocre radio sound like a champ....KD0FGX
