Help with Antenna Install In DC Metro / Maryland Area
Hi All
I have recently moved into Montgomery County Maryland from overseas (UK) and need to either identify a professional aerial installation company or some knowledgeable person to enable me to install a couple of antennas - an Alpha Delta DC-CC and a DIamond Co-Linear for 2metres. Support with siting options also probably needed. Any idea welcomed. Best wishes Andy Richman M3ZLN |

Dear Andy: Welcome to USA.
One of the best antenna rigging companies is in New England: http://www.xxtowers.com/ While you are on this side of The Pond, consider getting a US license - very easy to do. 73, Mac N8TT -- J. Of course in the case of an outright ban on outdoor antennas, you could always go with the vertical inside the pvc flag pole. I just want a wire Antenna and a small co-linear for now. Thanks for the X towers link. In the fullness of time i would like something like this but for now it will be something a bit more discreet / simple. Best wishes Andy |

I think we have found a great place for discreet antenna placement as its a 170'+/- yard which is moderatly wooded so will hide most of a wire antenna. Some issues about how to best position it. Also its a rented house so i know the owner / neighbours wont be keen on anything not discreet. To be honest i was thinking a vertical for HF for the time being might need to suffice as its easy and quick to get up. For now i will only be listening but have the US exam notes for technicians license and hoe to be off and running soon. Do you know who i would need to speak to about the precise laws / restrictions etc? I presume the planning dept in local government? Having come to the US with visions of the huge antenna farms we Brits can only dream of it would be just my luck that i cant even get up a simple wire! Back home i just about managed to squeeze in a half size G5RV so i would be nice to get something i can use on 80m. Now i need to get time to get my head down for study. Best wishes Andy M3ZLN |
