Horz Loop vs Half Square

I am looking to put up either a 75 meter Horizontal loop fed with 450 ohm
ladder line or a 40 meter Half Square. I would only be able to get either
antenna up less than 40 feet. I have had the loop up in the past and it was
a great preformer even at low heights.

Looking for antenna that would allow me to work into Europe as well as
better signal to West Coast.

Would appreciate your thoughts and any websites that you know of that detail
out a Half Square.

Thanks,
Scott

Just remember that a half-square is a bi-directional antenna
and would need to be rotated to cover both the West Coast
and Europe with its highest gain. If you aimed the half-square
toward Europe, the other major lobe would be aimed at Southern
Mexico. If you aimed it toward Los Angeles, the other major lobe
would be aimed at West Africa.
