Help on Severns equations

Hi all. My name y Alfred and I am new in this newsgroup.

Would you help me on how to demostrate equations 1 and 2 in page 9
of:Severns article; "Measurement Of Soil Electrical Parameters At HF"
in

http://www.antennasbyn6lf.com/files/...urements_2.pdf

Thank you very much in advance.

There is table of measured values for R and X on page 10.
Just plug them into the formulas on page 9 and see if you come
up with the same answer for the equations in (1) and (2)

For R = 129 and X = -134

R^2 = 16641
X^2 = 17956
R^2 + X^2 = 34597
R/(R^2 + X^2) = 129/(16641 + 17956) = 129/34597 = 0.0037286
8.84 * 0.0037286 = 0.032961
0.032961 / 7.41 = 0.0044482

Side Note: in the 25 years I worked in the aerospace industry
in Southern California, I ended up chasing Rudy back and forth
across several employers. I finally had the pleasure of meeting
him face to face around 1987.

One of the more interesting things he told me, "When doing your
resume, highlight your accomplishments and gloss over the
aberrations."
