Default RF absorption question 40m

Just put up an end fed 1/2 vertical cut for 40m. I was able to get a low
SWR with my antenna tuner. The problem i found was the wire got tangled
into the lower branches of the tree. My plan was to pull it away from the
tree however the wire follows straight beside the trees. Will i have an RF
absorption problem on 40m? Should i get the tree guy in to trim the
branches so i can pull it away from the tree? Or should i just drink a few
cold ones and enjoy this holiday weekend?

Well, I used a GAP Challenger vertical anchored to a 12 foot tree stump, about
8-10 inches in diameter and it worked out fine.

Only if bare wire against wet wood where the wire presents a high
potential. As you describe it, 1/2 wave, this would be at the ends.

It would solve practical problems over the long run.

Or should i just drink a few

In the short term, sure.
