MFJ Tuner

Is anyone familiar at all with MFJ tuners? Mine is a 941B.. It has a
little red button just above the RF/SWR meter.. Do I need to push this
in to get the SWR reading? When I hold it down and play with the
knobs I am able to get good SWR, but if I don't hold it down, the SWR
never gets below 3. There is also another dial that says SWR/WATT
that can be pushed in or pulled out.. The online version of the
manual talks about pulling and pusing this dial but never mentions the
little red button.

I tried hooking another SWR meter up between the xcvr and tuner and
the reading is similar to what I see on the tuner when I press the red
button but not exactly the same.

Thanks,

Dan H.

When all else fails read the manual.

Hi Dan, Good advice, but he has already read the on line manual, if you read
the post. The 941E must be a later version of the 941B, which he is asking
about. The only thing I can figure is; the 941E has a dual (cross hair) swr/
power meter. If the B version does not (and I don't know) the button in
question may be a forward/reverse switch, which would explain why he only gets
good readings when he pushes the button.
