Attic HF anntenna?

Howdy,

I'm moving into a house where I can't put up an exposed HF antenna. Any
comments on in-attic antennas? I'm bringing my 10-15-20-40 meter shortened
dipole with me. I think it will stretch out ok in the attic.

Thanks,

Jeff

I run 25W into a dipole in my attic for 10M; when the prpagation was in,
I was able to work into all of Europe, and out west as far as Central
Kiribati and New Zealand. An attic dipole will work..just not as well as
a 20-element Yagi at 150'!!

I have a zig-zag 100' dipole in my 40'X35' attic. I feed it with 450 ohm line
and a home brew tuner. I keep a regular schedule on 75M and 40M with hams 350
miles out to 1000 miles with 100 watts. DX 20M on up. Yes, an attic antenna
will work, and it will work all of you home electronics, as well as your
neighbors, so get ready for that!

Jeff,
Since you have already used an 'attic' antenna I figure you
are familiar with at least a few of the 'draw backs'. Unless
there's something really 'different' about your new home, it
should work about as well as it did in the old place, maybe
better, maybe not. There's not much anyone can say about how
well it will work until you try it. Good luck...
