Yes, you can use 5 ohm tv coax but you will be better off using 50 ohm rg 8 or rg 58 cable as the output circuit of your radio is optimized for the 50 ohm cable. There is aloss of power in the mismatched cable. Not much but it is there. If you must use 75 ohm cable then investigate using a matching section of 50 ohm cable. Dave WD9BDZ |

![]() "g g", Sure. The aluminum used for the shield isn't easy to solder to, but 'TV' coax should work okay. 'Doc |

There are addapters for F plug to PL259. I can hear it now, "oh my god, you
will loose at least a milionth of a watt if you use an adapter. That is totaly unacceptable". "Bob Miller" wrote in message ... The connectors they used to attach to a tv input won't fit your transceiver. Bob k5qwg |

Only problem I see is the foil inner shield in tv coax might be trickier to solder to a standard pl-259 plug that you will screw onto your transceiver. The connectors they used to attach to a tv input won't fit your transceiver. Bob k5qwg |
