Screwdriver mobile antennas

After years of single band mobiling I've decided to invest in a screwdriver
antenna. There seem to be 3 of 4 main manufacturers that make these types.
I would be glad of anyone's experience with these antennas.
Thanks

i've used both a high-sierra and yaseu ATAS antennas and both have
been fine choices. the high-sierra was the first model they
manufactured many years ago. that was on the back of my 1st
motorhome. i now use a Yaesu ATAS-100 motorized/multi-band antenna
and it too works as advertised. the ATAS is smaller and easier to
mount but covers only down thru 40m. the newer high-sierra models
require a more heft mounting solution but can tune down to 160m.

I like the tarheel antennas.

Just got my little tarheel and it is good.

If you don't mind stepping out of the car in order to tune, save some money
and get a manual screwdriver. I'm really enjoying my MFJ....and it was
pretty reasonably priced.

Michael, the screwdriver antennas (most of them, anyway) work quite well.
I would suggest you pick up a copy of "40+5 Years of Mobileering" by Don
Johnson W6AAQ. Don is the guy that designed the original screwdriver, and
he can (and will) sell you one of his, or tell you which of his competitors'
antennas work well, if at all.
