Hi Rick -

You might also want to consider Cable X-perts CXP1318FX.
The performance is similar, and it's probably more flexible, and cheaper.

But they can also sell you the LMR400.

I've always bought coax on ebay and the prices are always cheaper. You
have to make sure it's new and it often comes with your choice of
connectors already installed.

It does no harm to look there, but be sure you really know what you're
looking for as there are no returns::

Good Luck

Before buying from Cable Experts, visit the Product Review section and
click on coax cables then their name. Most of the descriptions/ratings
rate them as poor.
I recall there is also a photo showing improper installed connecter!

Hi Jim -

It's not clear (to me) exactly what you mean by "Product Review section;"
but I checked the reviews on eHam.net.

I was surprised to find that X-perts quality control on connectors was
criticized by a number of hams. Mine have all been fine; but I do place
some weight on eHam reviews.

I don't know whether Rick is looking for ready-made assemblies, or just
bulk cable. And I don't know if DavisRF offers ready-made assemblies,
or not. But my current thinking is that either the 1318 cable from X-perts,
OR the Bury-Flex from Davis would be good cable, as such.

As for assemblies, the X-perts stuff is MUCH better than the no-name,
cheap assemblies I previously bought from HRO. But the eHam reviews
have convinced me that X-perts has (or had) some serious quality control
problems with their connectors. It also sounds like they didn't take very
good care of their customers when problems turned up.
