QST article on the halo

Hi Group,

I like the halo antenna for 6 meters in this months QST. Can anyone tell me
what the input impedance would be if the halo was directly connected to the
coax?

How about the same concept with the antenna as a square?

Shape has a very minor effect on the radiation resistance. Shortened 1/2
wave loops have a radiation resistance typically in the 10-12 Ohm region.
The halo has an elliptical ( about 3dB out of "omni") and care must be taken
to choke off radiation currents on the feedline and support mast.

Hi OM,

In classical literature, the circular halo represents eternity,
whereas the square halo represents the four elements of earth and
identifies a living person.

These halos have gaps in them- finite eternity ??

Dale
It's ephemeral eternity and finite infinity.
