Htx-100 Mic

I have a Radio Shack model HTX-100 Ten meter transceiver, brand new and have
never been used, still in the box. The problem is that I do not have a
microphne for
it and would like to know what other mic could be wired for this radio.
Pin input is a 8 pin connecter, would any up and down button mic work.
After searching the net I have learned that the mic for this rig has two
buttons on it
For searching the memory channels, up or down.
Please help ..... Richard.

I have the same rig. (the later HTX-10 has a better receiver, but lacks
CW) I believe the mike UNIT is limited to Radio Shack, but using the
schematic you should be able to set up a remote control system like I
did- boom mike clipped to headphones, footswich for tx/rx switching and
pushbuttons for up/down use.

Good luck, and enjoy it- it's not a bad rig for the price! (and just
wait for the sunspot count to rise again...hubba hubba!!)

Richard -

First, do the obvious and contact Radio Shack.
They have a web site, an 800 number and technical support.

What you want to know is if the replacement microphone is still available,
its part number and cost.
Much of this is now "on-line at Radio Shack

To order parts call 1-800-843-7422 or visit your local RadioShack store.

So there is your part number and phone number ... probably be less painful
and cheaper than adapting a microphone you would buy.

With RS, getting tech support, replacement parts, etc you will
probably do better with their website or 800 number than with many of
their local stores.

I have an extra and would be glad to send it to you, free of charge,
Richard. It's brand new too, just say the word.

The rig was given to me as a gift and the generous giver had no way of
knowing that he was giving a phone-only rig to a CW addict. ;-)

I think the mike connection pin out for your HTX-100 and the Kenwood
HF transceivers are the same. Look in your owner's manual and then
the mike connector at Kenwood's web sight. See if they are the same.
If so, and you cant find a RS replacement, get a Kenwood microphone.

My mistake, but fear not. I thought you meant the HTX-10. However, my mobile
was a Presiden HR-2510/Lincoln. (AM/FM/LSB/USB/CW version of the HTX-100) I
also have the stock mic for that as well.

I sent you an e-mail and will ship the mic to your supplied shipping
address. Take care es vy...
