Connector for Belden 89913?
Hi all,
Anyone have any leads on N type connectors specifically for Belden 89913? That's a plenum-rated version of 9913, with slightly different dimensions and significantly thinner jacket. (0.364 inches over the jacket, versus 0.405 inches for 9913.) Cheers, Tom |
You might check with The Wireman. He carries good quality standard N
connectors and might be able to get the special one you need. Roy Lewallen, W7EL Tom Bruhns wrote: Hi all, Anyone have any leads on N type connectors specifically for Belden 89913? He could also check out the Amphenol and Amp web sites.

Do those companies sell directly to consumers in small quantities?

Thanks Roy and Tam (and the person who emailed). Wireman, Amphenol
and Amp don't help, but HD Communications does have connectors, both clamp and crimp, for this cable. Google came through again. Cheers, Tom "Tarmo Tammaru" wrote in message ... My thought was to find a part number, which he could then call any one of a dozen people up with, and ask if they have it, without giving a long explanation. In fact, maybe the first place he should go is the Belden web site, they may have a recommendation. Actually, there may be a simpler solution. Put about a 4 - 6 inch length of heat shrink tubing over the jacket to build it up , and use a normal connector intended for 9913. There may be a problem with an RG8 type connector, in that the center conductor may not go in the pin hole. Tam/WB2TT |

I formed the opinion that it should be illegal for wire companies to sell RF coaxial cable for which there are no connectors. ;-) As far as I could tell, Amp and Amphenol didn't have anything, but Bowmar did. Bowmar seems a bit hungrier, or else is just set up to run semi-specials. I found them willing to talk with me about special BNC configurations that would only sell around a thousand a year, for example, a few years back. Actually, there may be a simpler solution. Two layers of a particular heat shrink made a snug fit to the clamp nut on the connectors we already had, and that let the connector assembly work properly. Much better than the mess the 'lectricians made on the first try. Cheers, Tom |
