Good Antenna for Attic
Looking for a broadband scanner antenna for my attic. Would like 29-900Mhz
receive and TX on 150 & 450Mhz ranges. TX is not that important really. Any suggestions? Matt |
Hi Matt,
the most broadband VHF / UHF receiving antenna, quite easy to build, is a discone antenna. Search the web for "discone", you will find what you need. BR from Ivan "Matt" wrote in message ... Here is an antenna for sale on eBay. I am not selling it or recommending
the seller. This is just an example of a very good scanner antenna. Not good for transmitting, though. http://tinyurl.com/593dm "Matt" wrote in message ... Matt The Radio Shack 25-1300 Mhz discone antenna is relatively cheap. Not the most robust, but for an attic may be just fine. bob k5qwg |
If I would also like to listen to satellites flying over head which antenna
would be better? http://tinyurl.com/593dm or this one? http://tinyurl.com/4k794 I like the 2nd one(discone) slightly better since it will likely fit in my attic better and I can also use it as a TX antenna later on. I have heard they perform poorly though. Matt Looking for a broadband scanner antenna for my attic. Would like 29-900Mhz receive and TX on 150 & 450Mhz ranges. TX is not that important really.
