Sucess !!!!

At last... and it was worth all the waiting for... I had my QSO this evening
after figuring out how to set the repeater code into this Yaesu of mine !!!
The antenna in the loft is working well. At the moment the co-axial is
draped through the loft hatch - across the landing ,and through the doorway
of the "Radio Room" so as you can imagine - I am not exactly "in Favour"
with the rest of the family....... tomorrw I shall get the drill out and
make a nice neat hole in the ceiling and tidy things up a
bit.......Wonderful day.... how do you clean the solder off the Carpet
?......

Err... I use a sharp blade and cut it off. Takes bit of carpet with it!

Or soldering iron and solder sucker! :-)

John,
You can accomplish two objectives at once! But it's going
to really hurt. Solder doesn't really come out of carpet, and
believe me, you will always be reminded of just exactly where
it was (by 'guess who'). So, tell her that she should start
looking for new carpet. Family now happy, solder gone!

(I said it would hurt, right?)
