Antenna Length for Two Metres
I am soon to take a foundation license and would like to work 2meters. I am
restricted by local regulations with regard to Antenna height. What would be the minimum height that I could use ? Any help advice appreciated Simon. |
Simon -- it depends on the antenna height of the other station
For 2M repeaters -- I work a repeater 20 miles away with an HT and rubber duck running 1 watt of power, BUT the repeater antenna is at 5600 feet on a mountain top !!! For a rough guide of transmitter range and antenna heights see URL: http://www.artscipub.com/simpleton/simp.range.html -- The Anon Keyboard I doubt, therefore I might be "Simon Smith" wrote in message ... (your subject refers to length and your post refers to height) Minimum height you can use is probably "ground level" - or - zero feet in other words - as long as you can hear the other station - you can probably talk to it. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
