Is this jack wired correctly?

Ken KC2JDY Ken (to reply via email remove "zz" from address) Hi Ken, If you use a mono plug, just push it in part way - to the first "click". If it's a good Switchcraft jack, the tip of your plug should engage the 'ring' contact just fine. 73, Jim AC6XG |

Nice antenna topic! You do have a point, but why waste the bandwith to respond -- if you don't have a helpful suggestion. It is at least a radio question. Your comment and the general lack of response did make me think to post it to sci.electronics.basics. Ken KC2JDY Ken (to reply via email remove "zz" from address) |

The microphone for PC's has a STEREO plug with the signal on the RING only. I found out the hard way that a microphone with a MONO plug will short out the MIC input. TenTec probably wired it that way so that a PC microphone would work. Ken KO6NO |

When ever I have an *equipment* question, I would never think to post it in a ng covering *equipment* (like rec.radio.amateur._equipment_), where all the participants are focused on discussing *equipment*. No, my brilliant choice would be to post my *equipment* question in ... let's see .. an *ANTENNA* ng. |
