Default New version 4nec2 freeware antenna optimizer

Hello...,

for those interested, just released the latest 5.4.1 new version for
the freeware 4nec2 antenna visualizer and optimizer.
(see http://www.si-list.org/swindex2.html and look for 4nec2)

With this the below new features are now availble for use:

- Batch processing for automatic testing and calculation of multiple
(4)Nec2 files.
- Extensive Nec-2 segment- en geometry validation, such as:
Intersecting volumes, Short/thick wires at sharp angle, Unequal
segmentation for parallel wires, Too low hight, Large radius or
length changes at junctions, etc.
- Screen grabber for easy cut/paste and print or save parts of the
screen/window/form.
- Automatic convergence-testing function with line-chart result
display.
- Enhanced variable-sweeper function for more easy use.
- Automatic generation of L, Pi and T matching-networks (low- and
high-pass)
- Plot 2D and 3D graphs/charts using gnuplot freeware package
- Show Circular Polarization components for the far-field.
- Switchable Eznec- or traditional-style current display.
- Use of Insulated-Wires and 'LC-trap' loading-types.
- Updated build.exe to avoid unconnected or overlapping wires

For those not (yet) familiar with the 4nec2 package below some of the
other 4nec2 'highlights':

- Drawing style geometry editor to assist the starting antenne
modeller.
- Graphical 3D visualization of Far- and Near-field data and antenna
strutures
- Line-chart visualization for freq-sweep Gain, F/B, F/R, SWR and
impedance data.
- Full Nec-2 command support, including GX, GM, GR, GA, GH and
surface patches.
- Support for inclusion of surface-wave in far-field data.
- Variable substitution included for complete Nec-2 command set.
- Sophisticated real-time 3D viewer showing real wire-radius for
modern-computers
- Capable of using the max of 2Gb of windows on-board memory
(appr. 11000 segs)
- Interactive Smith chart visualization for freq-sweeps
- AO-style gradient/hill-climbing optimizer included.
- Genetic Algorithms based optimizer included.
- Automatic variable sweeper included.
- Integrated Sommerfeld ground calculations.
- Running on all systems from early Windows-95 to latest Windows-XP
- Context sensitive Help-file.
- Completely free.

Is 5.4.1 a stand-alone version? What is 4nec2X541.zip? Is anybody working
on a free Windows version of NEC4 (Providing you obtain the appropriate
license from Lawrence Livermore)?

Regards,

Frank

Yes

It is explained on the download page Arie gave.

Is anybody working
on a free Windows version of NEC4 (Providing you obtain the appropriate
license from Lawrence Livermore)?

If you have purchased a license then you were provided with a copy of
NEC4 so that question is moot.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking in terms of Nittany Scientifics GNEC, a
NEC4 based program. Did not realize if I get a license I would also get a
copy of NEC4.

Frank

You either have a license for NEC4 or not; you would know.Listen to Danny
(hello OM!)

No, do not have license, or GNEC. Just thinking about upgrading to NEC4.
