Outbacker ML-130 160m antenna question

Howdy,
I just aquired an Outbacker ML-130 160m antenna. Anybody have any
experience with this antenna? It apparently covers 160m to 17m. It's
about 6' tall - very short stinger.

Thanks,

Jeff

Nothing to write home about. In the 75m shootouts, it was about
1 dB down from a Hustler. Probably pretty good on 20m & 17m.

No, do not recognize this model number.

Alpha-Delta is the US distributor for Terlin/Outbacker antenna products
http://www.alphadeltacom.com/pg9.htm

The Outbacker web site (Western Australia) has a complete list of current
production HF antennas:
http://www.outbacker.com.au/antennas.htm

Most of the Outbacker antennas only go as low as 75/80 meters. The
Outbacker Outreach is one model (which I have is about 12 feet tall) and
will covers 160 - 10 meters (with movement of the stinger wire)

Thanks for your reply, Greg.

I believe Terlin used to make custom antennas, and I think this is one
of 'em. It's an older model. It has taps for 17m, 20m, 40m, and 80m (2
taps). I just installed it in my attic, and it loads fine on 20m, 40m
and 80m, but no-go on 160m (I may need more ground radials.

Jeff -

I use a counterpoise mount with the Outbacker, BUT the bandwidth on 75 and
80 meters i very narrow ( 50 KHz). No stringer is used for 160 meters and
as I remember it was even tighter .. pick your favorite 160 frequency and
adjustment the top whip for lowest SWR.
